With the COVID?19 pandemic depleting personal protective equipment worldwide, various methods including ultraviolet C (UVC) germicidal irradiation (UVGI) have been implemented to decontaminate N95 filtering facepiece respirators. These devices pose a risk for UVC exposure to the operator with reported adverse effects generally limited to the eyes and skin.

The care of breast cancer patients is important to dermatologists. Breast cancer’s initial presentation, clinical progression, and its associated treatments can result in a variety of cutaneous complications. Dermatologists may be the first to identify a breast cancer diagnosis, as a subset of patients first present with direct extension of an underlying tumor or with a cutaneous metastasis.

Panniculitis, or inflammation of the fatty tissue, is an ongoing diagnostic challenge to both dermatologists and pathologists. The basis of the current panniculitis classification is histology, whether the inflammation is mainly located in the fibrovascular septa or in the adipose lobules thereafter with or without vasculitis. However, overall, the difficulty rises due to various terminologies and lack of clinical relevance with this classification. In addition to that, the majority of panniculitides have mixed infiltration of both lobular and septal and not a clear?cut distinction. The aim of this article is to provide a novel clinical algorithm to the diagnosis of panniculitis and thus to provide guidelines for all clinicians who may encounter this challenging condition in their clinical practice.

Recent reports have suggested that there may be dermatologic manifestations of COVID?19. We searched 12 databases for peer?reviewed or pre?print published studies until July 15, 2020, for this PRISMA?compliant review (CRD42020182050). We used the Oxford Center for Evidence?Based Medicine Levels of Evidence to facilitate data synthesis. From 86 retrieved studies, we collated data on 2,560 patients with dermatologic manifestations of COVID?19.

Since it was first approved for use in 1982, isotretinoin has revolutionized the management of acne vulgaris. Despite almost four decades of widespread use, uncertainty still exists regarding the manner in which it is best prescribed. In this review, we provide an update on the pharmacokinetics, mechanism of action, contraindications, interactions, and appropriate dosing schedule of isotretinoin in the treatment of acne. We also discuss the safety of performing concurrent dermatological procedures in patients taking isotretinoin.
