Recommendations with regard to the need for continued hip surveillance after skeletal maturity are based on expert opinion rather than evidence. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of and risk factors associated with progressive hip displacement in cerebral palsy (CP) after triradiate cartilage (TRC) closure.

Although cellularity is traditionally assessed morphologically, deep sequencing approaches being used for microorganism detection may be able to provide information about cellularity. We hypothesized that cellularity predicted using CIBERSORTx (Stanford University), a transcriptomic-based cellular deconvolution tool, would differentiate between infectious and non-infectious arthroplasty failure.

AB There are a growing number of opportunities within the field of orthopaedic surgery to address climate change and investigate ways to promote sustainability. Orthopaedic surgeons can take a proactive role in addressing climate change and its impacts within the areas of operating-room waste, carbon emissions from transportation and implant manufacturing, anesthetic gases, and water usage. Future studies are needed to further these initiatives on quantifying and decreasing environmental impact and furthering sustainable use of our resources. AB Acute compartment syndrome (ACS) is defined as increased pressure within a confined compartmental space, leading to a decline in the perfusion pressure of the tissue within that compartment. To date, the commonly held belief has been that ACS was first described by Richard von Volkmann in 1881. However, we propose that ACS was originally described by Abul Qasim Al-Zahrawi approximately 900 years earlier. Copyright 2023 by The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Incorporated
