Importance Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (SJS/TEN) are severe cutaneous adverse reactions, and patients with SJS/TEN frequently require intensive care. However, there is limited evidence on the clinical outcomes of immunomodulating therapy, including plasmapheresis and intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) in patients with SJS/TEN.

Importance Disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP) is an inherited or sporadic disorder of keratinization associated with germline variations. There is no effective standard of care therapy for DSAP, but treatment with topical lovastatin combined with cholesterol cream has shown promise.

Importance Tumor necrosis factor–α inhibitors (TNFis) approved to treat several inflammatory diseases are sometimes used off label to treat severe forms of acne that are refractory to conventional therapies. However, use of TNFis can also be followed by acne occurrence, suggesting an association between TNFis and acne. Most of the literature on the topic comprises case reports and series that have not been reviewed in a systematic manner.

Importance Atopic dermatitis onset usually occurs in childhood. Persistence of disease into adolescence and adulthood is common. It is important to evaluate new treatment options in adolescents because of the high unmet need in this population.

Importance Therapy for advanced melanoma has transformed during the past decade, but early detection and prognostic assessment of cutaneous melanoma (CM) remain paramount goals. Best practices for screening and use of pigmented lesion evaluation tools and gene expression profile (GEP) testing in CM remain to be defined.
