Dermoscopy is gaining appreciation in the spectrum of non?neoplastic skin conditions, especially papulosquamous and granulomatous dermatoses. However, the use of dermoscopy in such diseases has not yet acquired a standard role in daily practice due to the lack of a structured approach as well as possible pitfalls limiting its accuracy.

Keloid scar formation arises from a disorganized fibroproliferative collagen response that extends beyond the original wound margins because of excessive production of extracellular matrix (ECM). Despite treatment options for keloid scars including medical and surgical therapies, such as intralesional steroid injection and surgical excision, the recurrence rate remains high.

Balloon cell nevus (BCN) is a rare histopathological entity. It is usually represented by an asymptomatic brown smooth or polypoid lesion, but no clinical features allow differentiation from other melanocytic nevi. Moreover, dermoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) aspects of BCN have been described in a few single cases. This study aims to describe a wider BCN series with dermoscopic and RCM features to assess the most frequent patterns.

Facial skin cancer lesions in close proximity to critical organs require further development of radiotherapeutic techniques for highly conformal treatment, especially when treating elderly frail patients. We report on our treatment technique and first clinical experience for patients with perinasal/periorbital skin cancer treated with individualized epithetic mold high?dose?rate brachytherapy (BRT).

Panniculitides are a heterogeneous group of inflammatory dermatoses involving the subcutaneous fatty tissue. Histologically, they are classified into septal and lobular panniculitis, according to the predominant localization of the inflammatory infiltrate. Neutrophils are frequently found in panniculitis, mainly at the early stages. Here, we investigated whether neutrophils contribute to various types of cutaneous panniculitis by releasing neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs).

Though androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is one of the most common diseases affecting both sexes and all races, its pathogenesis is not completely clarified. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of the four major prostaglandins (PGs) (PGE2, PGD2, PGF2?, and PI2 or prostacyclin) in the pathogenesis of AGA in males and females.
