Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the prostate

(A) Large cell (neuroendocrine) carcinoma is characterized by the large tumor cells with salt-pepper chromatin, forming a large nest with peripheral palisading. (B) Another case of large cell (neuroendocrine) carcinoma of the prostate metastatic to an axillary lymph node, showing similar neuroendocrine features, numerous mitotic figures, and apoptotic bodies. Both cases are positive for neuroendocrine markers by immunohistochemistry (not shown).
