Peliosis hepatis on computed tomographic (CT) scan

This contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) scan of the liver from a patient with peliosis hepatis shows an enhancing solid mass in the central portion of the right lobe. The mass has an appearance that is similar to other solid vascular masses such as hepatic adenoma or hepatocellular carcinoma. Peliosis hepatis does not have typical contrast-enhancement features such as those seen in patients with hepatic hemangioma or focal nodular hyperplasia.
