Thyroid ultrasound: Microcalcifications in the absence of a distinct thyroid nodule

Diffuse hypoechogenicity of the thyroid from Hashimoto's thyroiditis. There are innumerable microcalcifications within the gland without an associated nodule. The surgical pathology revealed diffuse sclerosing variant of papillary thyroid cancer.
