Cavus feet showing effects of impact

Cavus feet showing effects of impact
Cavus feet appear to absorb greater forces during the impact of gait, which over time can cause damage.
(A) This photograph shows hypertrophy of the first metatarsophalangeal joints - more prominent in right foot (arrowhead) - as well as widening of the forefoot and hammering of several toes (arrows).
(B) This photograph shows the soles of this patient's running shoes. The soles of her shoes reveal marked wear over the area of the first metatarsophalangeal joint.
