AB Posttransplant diabetes (PTD) is a common medical complication after solid organ transplantation. Because of adverse outcomes associated with its development and detrimental impact on long-term survival, strategies to prevent or manage PTD are critically important but remain underresearched.

AB Single-cell technologies open up new opportunities to explore the behavior of cells at the individual level. For solid organ transplantation, single-cell technologies can provide in-depth insights into the underlying mechanisms of the immunological processes involved in alloimmune responses after transplantation by investigating the role of individual cells in tolerance and rejection.

Prophylaxis of antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) caused by donor-specific antibodies remains challenging. Given the critical roles of complement activity in antibody-mediated graft injury, we developed a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation of small-interfering RNA against complement C5 (C5 siRNA-LNP) and investigated whether C5 siRNA-LNP could downregulate the complement activity and act as an effective treatment for AMR.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are tissue-specific particles released by cells containing valuable diagnostic information in the form of various biomolecules. The characterization of EVs released by kidney grafts during normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) may present a promising avenue to assess graft status before transplantation. Methods

AB Lung transplant patients often suffer from posttransplant airway pathologies that require placement of endobronchial stents. In addition to surveillance bronchoscopy, patients often undergo radiographic stent evaluations. Chest x-rays are extremely limited in their ability to diagnose stent complications, so many patients require chest computed tomography (CT) scans for stent evaluation.
