In patients with severe comorbidities or those who are critically ill, chronic or recurrent tracheoesophageal fistulas may be successfully closed using an Amplatzer device. We present the case of a chronic tracheoesophageal fistula causing dysphagia and aspiration pneumonia, which was successfully repaired using an Amplatzer device.
