AB Trunnion in total hip arthroplasty refers to the interface between the neck of a femoral stem and the femoral head. Clinical complications arising from damage to this junction, whether it be due to mechanical wear, corrosion, or a combination, are referred to as mechanically assisted crevice corrosion (MACC), also commonly known as trunnionosis.

AB Metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint injuries of the fingers are frequent among athletes and can markedly affect an athlete's ability to perform at a high level. Despite this, MCP finger injuries in athletes are not frequently discussed, particularly in comparison with MCP joint injuries of the thumb, and remain unrecognized and undertreated injuries in this cohort. Accurate diagnosis and treatment of these injuries begins with an understanding of all the potential diagnoses.

Given the rising demand for shoulder arthroplasty, understanding risk factors associated with unplanned hospital readmission is imperative. No study to date has examined the influence of patient and hospital-specific factors as a predictive model for 90-day readmissions within a bundled payment cohort after primary shoulder arthroplasty. The purpose of this study was to determine predictive factors for 90-day readmissions after primary shoulder arthroplasty within a bundled payment cohort.

Patients with orthopaedic trauma are frequently lost to follow-up. Personal mobile devices have been used to ascertain clinical research outcomes. The prevalence of mobile device ownership, use patterns, and attitudes about research among patients with orthopaedic trauma would inform clinical research strategies in this population.

Multisystem injuries affecting vasculature and nerves can be detrimental sequelae of knee dislocations (KDs). The purpose of this study was to provide an update of the current literature since the conducted search used in the publication of Medina et al on May 3, 2013, to evaluate (1) the frequency of vascular and neurologic injury after KD, (2) the frequency with which surgical intervention was conducted for vascular injury in this setting, and (3) the frequency with which each imaging modality was used to detect vascular injury.

To provide insight into hiring trends/preferences in Academic Orthopaedic Spine Surgery after fellowship training. Methods: Fellowship directors (FDs) listed by the North American Spine Society were surveyed regarding new faculty hiring preferences. Surveys were analyzed/stratified by response using the Kruskal-Wallis with Dunn multiple comparisons test, the Fisher exact test, and the Mann-Whitney U test for univariate comparisons.

Arthrofibrosis after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is often treated by arthroscopic lysis of adhesions (ALAs) or manipulation under anesthesia (MUA). This study compared the 2-year complication rates of ALA and MUA and range-of-motion (ROM) outcomes for ALA, early MUA (<3 months after TKA), and delayed MUA (>3 months after TKA).

Complex spine surgeries are associated with notable blood loss requiring numerous strategies to preserve blood volume. Tranexamic acid (TXA) is efficacious in reducing blood loss when used topically during surgery, intravenously with or without postoperative maintenance treatment.
