Onychomycosis (OM) represents about 50% of nail disorders. Oral antifungals have proven efficacy in the treatment of onychomycosis but their associated side effects limit their use. Accordingly, there is an increased need for a safe and effective therapy to induce clearance and improve the esthetic appearance of diseased nails.

Melasma is an acquired pigmentary disorder which currently has no definitive treatment. Although topical drugs containing hydroquinone are the basis of treatments, they are usually associated with recurrence. We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of monotherapy with topical methimazole 5% versus combination of Q-Switched Nd: YAG Laser and topical methimazole 5% in patients with refractory melasma.

Healthy and a youthful appearance is a common desire of the aging population. “Beauty from within involves using nutrition and nutraceuticals to support skin function for reducing and reversing signs of aging such as wrinkles, pigmentary changes, skin laxity, and dullness. Carotenoids possess strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities and are effective in improving skin barrier and could thereby stimulate “beauty from within by providing endogenous support to reduce the expressions of aging.

The recent removal of hydroquinone from the over-the-counter market has created a need for modern skin lightening formulations. An effective pigment lightening formulation must be non-irritating to prevent skin darkening from post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, penetration enhanced to reach the epidermal/dermal junction, contain anti-inflammatory ingredients, and address multiple mechanisms of pigment production.

In recent years, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has been used in plastic surgery, dermatology, and other treatment procedures worldwide. Since the number of scientific writings has been significantly increasing, it is challenging to generate a manual compilation and systematic review of PRP's therapeutic applications in dermatology and plastic surgeries. This study aimed to make a bibliometric analysis of the literature in the field and evaluate research hotspots and frontiers in this field in the past 20 years.

Ceramides are essential lipids in stratum corneum for skin permeability barrier function in that they retain the skin moisture and protect from the invasion of foreign pathogens. Previously, we demonstrated that ferment lysates of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus IDCC 3201 enhanced ceramide production in human epidermal keratinocytes. Furthermore, for comprehensive knowledge of this effect, in vitro experiments and multi-omics analysis were conducted to explore the underlying mechanisms.
