Preschool wheeze is very common and often difficult to treat. Most children do not require any investigations; only a detailed history and physical examination to ensure an alternative diagnosis is not being missed; and the differential diagnosis, and hence investigation protocols for the child in whom a major illness is suspected, shows geographical variation.

Asthma is the most common chronic disease in childhood and a rise in prevalence has been observed concomitantly with changing dietary habits in the Western world. This change has favored a more Westernized diet characterized by high intake of processed food and fat in contrast to a Mediterranean diet high in fruit, vegetable and fish intake.

Cow's milk allergy can result in anaphylactic reactions. The estimated prevalence of cow's milk allergy in developed countries ranges from 0.5% to 3% at age 1 year. Our objective was to perform a systematic review and, if possible, a meta-analysis to assess the frequency of fatal and recurrent anaphylaxis induced by cow's milk.

Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), a long-lasting disease in children, impacts their quality of life. We report the results of a phase 2b dose-finding trial of ligelizumab (NCT03437278) and a high-affinity humanized monoclonal anti-IgE antibody, in adolescents with CSU, supported by modeling and simulation analyses, mitigating challenges in pediatric drug development.
