Myasthenia gravis (MG) is characterized by muscle weakness caused by autoantibodies that bind to the postsynaptic membrane at the neuromuscular junction and impair acetylcholine receptor function. Weakness of respiratory muscles represents the most severe MG manifestation, and 10–15% of all patients experience an MG crisis with the need of mechanical ventilatory support at least once in their life.

The aim of the present meta-analysis was to evaluate the outcomes and effects of different systolic blood pressure (SBP) lowering in patients with hemorrhagic stroke using data from randomized controlled trials. A total of 2592 records were identified for this meta-analysis. We finally included 8 studies (6119 patients; mean age 62.8 ± 13.0, 62.7% men).

Early-stage behavioural variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) is often misdiagnosed, highlighting the need for new diagnostic instruments. Based on the revised diagnostic criteria for bvFTD, we developed the Behavioural Dysfunction Questionnaire (BDQ). In this explorative study, we aimed to determine the best scoring and analytical method for the BDQ to discriminate between bvFTD and non-bvFTD patients.

Although decompressive hemicraniectomy (DHC) is a lifesaving treatment strategy for patients with malignant middle cerebral artery infarction (mMCAi), only one in four patients achieves low to moderate post-stroke disability according to previous studies. However, the short follow-up periods in prior studies could have overestimated the poor clinical prognosis. This study therefore examined the long-term outcome after DHC for mMCAi.

Hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTRv amyloidosis) is a rare, but life-threatening protein misfolding disorder due to TTR gene mutations. Cardiomyopathy (ATTRv-CM) and polyneuropathy (ATTRv-PN) with early small nerve fibre involvement are the most common manifestations. Timely diagnosis and treatment initiation are key to limiting progression of disease. Corneal confocal microscopy (CCM) is a non-invasive method to quantify corneal small nerve fibres and immune cell infiltrates in vivo.

Migraine is an extremely disabling, common neurological disorder characterized by a complex neurobiology, involving a series of central and peripheral nervous system areas and networks.
