This review will examine the role of 5′-adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in the treatment of obesity, medical nutrition and chronic diseases, and its relationship with nutrition. In the literature, the number of studies examining the direct relationship of AMPK with nutrition is negligible.
