A 22-year-old man with a remote, blunt left eye injury presented with blurriness after this same eye was punched. The right eye was asymptomatic and normal. Visual acuity in the left eye was 20/20, and peripheral vitreoretinal interface elevations were observed with wide-field fundus imaging (Figure 1A). Optical coherence tomography confirmed a flat macula (Figure 1B) and showed vitreoretinal adhesion corresponding with retinoschisis in each abnormal, peripheral area (Figure 1C) without detachment. Although retinoschisis isolated to the macula from trauma is well known,1–3 extensive peripheral retinoschisis without macular involvement in the setting of trauma is unusual and is important to distinguish from retinal detachment.…
