Scaphoid fracture on MRI

A T1 weighted MRI of a coronal view of the wrist (A) shows a fracture through the mid to distal portion of the scaphoid. The distal fragment (asterisk) is dark on this sequence. Image B is a T2 weighted sequence and shows a simple transverse fracture (arrow) with a contusion of the distal fragment (asterisk) and edema of the surrounding tissues (arrowhead).
