Tibiofibular unions and the interosseous membrane (right leg)

The tibiofibular syndesmosis is comprised of four ligamentous structures: the anterior tibiofibular ligament (ATiFL), the posterior tibiofibular ligament (PTiFL), the transverse ligament, and the interosseous membrane (IOM). The ATiFL and IOM are shown in the picture above.
