Cleft-like indentation of the posterior mitral leaflet

Three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography of the mitral valve demonstrates a large cleft-like indentation of the posterior leaflet between the P1 and P2 scallops (arrows). This is visible on both left atrial and left ventricular views of the valve.
