| Assessment for drug interactions. |
| Counseling on infertility risk and fertility preservation, based on the patient's age, gender, and anticipated cumulative dose of CYC. |
| Counseling on the importance of flawless contraception. |
| Age-appropriate screening for cervical cancer and HPV infection in women, followed by close monitoring by a gynecologist if HPV-related disease is present. |
| Baseline laboratory testing (CBC with differential, serum creatinine levels, urinalysis, liver function tests, hepatitis B and C serologies). |
| Latent tuberculosis testing (tuberculin skin test and/or interferon gamma release assay). |
| Prophylaxis for Pneumocystis jirovecii. |
| Review of immunization status. Immunization with killed vaccines including influenza, Tdap, 13 valent, and 23 valent pneumococcal vaccines may safely be undertaken, albeit with possibly reduced efficacy in the setting of immunosuppression (recognizing that the two pneumococcal vaccines must be given at different times). |
