Atherosclerotic lesions in the Circle of Willis of a 90-year-old patient

Atherosclerotic lesions in the Circle of Willis of a 90-year-old patient
Circle of Willis of a 90-year-old patient. Macroscopically, atherosclerotic lesions can be identified by the white vessels, whereas nondiseased arteries appear largely transparent. This case shows prominent atherosclerosis mainly in the internal carotid artery, vertebral artery, basilar artery, left middle cerebral artery, and posterior cerebral artery.
