Provisional wound coverage of diabetic plantar infection
Provisional wound coverage of diabetic plantar infection
The pictures in the figure show the management of a diabetic patient with a chronic sinus draining from the plantar aspect of the foot that was present for over nine months. Following debridement (A), the wound was dressed and treated with an interim matrix wound dressing to create a neodermis to serve as wound bed for skin grafting (B). After two weeks, the overlying silicone layer was removed (C), and a skin graft was placed.
