Paravertebral block ultrasound probe placement

For thoracic paravertebral block, the patient may be positioned prone, with one arm hanging over the side of the bed. The probe is placed approximately 2 cm lateral to the midline at the chosen spinal level, and is rotated to achieve the optimal ultrasound image.
