Dorsal palpation of the trapezium

Dorsal palpation of the trapezium can be accomplished by palpating the distal aspect of the snuffbox (outlined in photograph above), and by palpating the joint line between the trapezium and the first metacarpal during repetitive thumb abduction-adduction.
