Distal forearm ultrasound: Six-view technique

Distal forearm ultrasound: Six-view technique
Place the arm to be examined on an arm table in a pronated position. Apply transducer gel to the distal forearm. With the ultrasound transducer in contact with the gel but not the underlying skin, examine the radius and ulna in 6 standardized planes using a linear probe, as shown. Ultrasound fracture findings include the presence of cortical gap, cortical bulging, cortical deviation, or a positive hematoma covering the cortex in all views.
