Endotracheal tube-induced vocal cord paralysis from arytenoid joint dislocation

Endotracheal tube-induced vocal cord paralysis from arytenoid joint dislocation
(A) A 56-year-old female patient with postextubation hoarseness due to prior endotracheal tube. Axial CT image of the neck demonstrates arteromedial position of the left arytenoid cartilage (arrow) and a dilated left laryngeal ventricle (asterisk) compatible with left vocal cord paralysis.
(B) Coronal CT image of the neck in the same patient demonstrates slight prominence of the ipsilateral piriform sinus (asterisk) due to the left vocal cord paralysis and mild proximal tracheal stenosis (arrows).
CT: computed tomography.
