Bodyweight squat
In this photograph of the bodyweight squat exercise, note how the model sits back (hips are well posterior of the feet) and maintains a neutral spine position (without rounding of the back or extension of the neck). Depth may be increased gradually, beginning with only slight knee flexion and progressing to deep knee and hip flexion until the hips are just below the knees.
