Chest radiograph showing right-sided arch suggested by the absence of the left aortic contour. The arrow points to the area where the left aortic contour would be seen in a normal radiograph.
A right-sided arch is associated with vascular sling or ring, often with tracheomalacia. While tracheomalacia does not cause cough, it can result in reduced cough efficiency, predisposing to prolonged coughing episodes, endobronchial infections, and protracted bacterial bronchitis.
