Soft tissue meniscus in a child with intussusception
A 10-month-old girl with intussusception. Abdominal radiograph demonstrates the meniscus (or crescent) sign (arrow) within the transverse colon and absence of gas in the cecum and ascending colon. There were no abnormally dilated loops of small bowel when this radiograph was taken, although some patients with intussusception develop this finding.
