Ultrasound images of anterior colporrhaphy and midurethral sling both containing synthetic mesh

Ultrasound images of anterior colporrhaphy and midurethral sling both containing synthetic mesh
(A) Two-dimensional EVUS image of right mid-sagittal view of the anterior compartment showing an anterior mesh and mesh sling. The two arrows point to the ends of the shrunken anterior mesh that is adjacent to the vaginal epithelium. The asterisk denotes a midurethral mesh sling in correct anatomic location.
(B) Three-dimensional EVUS image of a coronal view of the anterior compartment showing an anterior mesh (dashed arrows) and a midurethral mesh sling (asterisk). The two arrows point to the levator ani muscles. Visualization of both mesh implants allowed the clinician to determine which mesh was associated with the patient's pain symptoms (in this case, the anterior colporrhaphy mesh).
EVUS: endovaginal ultrasound; A: anterior; AR: anorectum; B: bladder; C: cephalad; PS: pubic symphysis; L: left; LAM: levator ani muscles; R: right; U: urethra; T: transducer.
