Straddle injury with pulsatile bleeding from urethral meatus

This patient presented with pulsatile bleeding from the urethral meatus (finger compression of penis was used to reduce active bleeding) following a straddle injury. Rapid swelling of the scrotum required open exploration to achieve hemostasis and to evaluate clot evacuation. Acute urethral reconstruction was not performed to avoid overdebridement of the distracted urethral segments. Delayed reconstruction was successfully performed three months later.
