Urethral rerouting during repair of PFUDD

Urethral rerouting during repair of PFUDD
The normal course of the urethra requires it to wrap around the inferior portion of the pubic bone and corporal bodies. With repair of traumatic injury, urethral resection may not allow this normal urethral course. The length of the urethra can be shortened as shown by proceeding through the four steps of the perineal anastomotic urethroplasty (ie, mobilization, splitting of the corporal bodies, inferior pubectomy, and rerouting).
PFUDD: pelvic fracture urethral distraction defect.
