Treadmill ECG risk stratification

Treadmill ECG risk stratification
High risk
  • High-risk Duke treadmill score (<–11)
  • Exercise-induced ST elevation without diagnostic Q waves (except for leads V1 or aVR)
  • Excessive ST-segment depression (>2 mm) which persists into recovery
  • Drop in systolic blood pressure >10 mmHg from baseline despite an increase in workload
  • Sustained ventricular tachycardia
Intermediate risk
  • Intermediate risk treadmill score (–11 to +5)
  • ST depression (<2 mm) at peak stress with normalization in early recovery
Low risk
  • Low risk treadmill score (>+5)
ECG: electrocardiogram.
