Reconstruction of multiple hand tendon injuries

The picture shows a dorsal hand injury due to a cycling accident with multiple tendon injuries and a large skin defect (A). The tendon injuries were repaired (B) and a pedicle groin flap (C) used to cover the wound. The flap was disconnected a few weeks after the initial coverage. In a third operation (D), the volume of the flap was reduced by defatting, and the patient regained function of the fingers one year after the injury.
