Posterior tibial tendon transfer to dorsum of foot

Posterior tibial tendon transfer to dorsum of foot
The figures illustrate posterior tibial tendon transfer to the dorsum of the foot.
(A) A longitudinal incision is made starting at the proximal margin of the cruciate ligament of the ankle and extending proximally. A second longitudinal incision is made over the dorsum of the foot, centered over the base of the second metatarsal.
(B) The posterior tibial tendon is passed posteriorly through the interosseous membrane into the anterior tibial compartment and then passed beneath the cruciate ligament and the extensors.
(C) The posterior tendon is then anchored to the dorsum of the foot.
