Spring-resisted abduction on a sliding platform

Spring-resisted abduction on a sliding platform
Sliding platform with spring resistance. Bilateral abduction upright and in a minisquat, repeated 5 to 10 times initially, and gradually progressing as tolerated to a set goal of 20. Alternatively, the exercise could also be performed lying supine in bed, with an elastic resistance band (eg, red TheraBand) encircling the knees, which are separated 18 inches and semi-flexed; while maintaining resistance continuously on the band, the knees are abducted for a progressive number of stretches, beginning with 10 once daily and gradually progressing as tolerated to a set goal of 20.
