Single twitch stimulation

Single twitch stimulation
Depiction of muscle contractions in response to single twitch (ST) stimuli delivered at a frequency of 0.1 Hz during normal conduction (control, A); partial depolarizing block (B); and moderate, shallow or minimal non-depolarizing block (C). Note the lack of fade between the first ST and subsequent ST evoked responses during both depolarizing and non-depolarizing block when stimuli are delivered at this slow, 0.1 Hz frequency. For this and other figures, the control value is that of the evoked mechanical response of the adductor pollicis muscle (in N) to a supramaximal stimulation of the ulnar nerve.
