Axial computed tomography (CT) thorax in a patient with bronchogenic carcinoma shows the collapsed right middle lobe abutting the cardiac structures and the right lower lobe in the paravertebral location. A residual air-bronchogram outlines the right middle lobe bronchus. The right upper lobe is hyperexpanded and the mediastinal structures are displaced to the right. A small left pleural effusion is visible.
