Wrist ultrasound: Transverse image through the proximal wrist shows an anechoic effusion (*) in the DRUJ. Distal ulna (U) and radius (R) are easily seen landmarks. Ultrasound is valuable in both demonstrating the presence of joint fluid and in guidance for aspiration.
