A: Fracture around the trochanter
AG: Fracture of greater trochanter
AL: Fracture of lesser trochanter
B: Fracture around or just distal to the stem
B1: Fracture with a stable stem
B2: Fracture with a loose stem
B3: Fracture with a loose implant and bone loss
C: Fracture well below the implant
