Common proximal long biceps tendon injuries
The pictures above show three common injuries of the proximal long biceps tendon. Panel A shows tendinopathy (or tendinosis), which can develop from chronic overuse (arrow). Panel B shows a longitudinal (or "split") tear of the portion of the tendon lying within the bicipital groove (dashed arrow). Panel C shows a complete tear of the tendon (thick arrow).
