Recommended management of Klinefelter syndrome based on common sequelae for developmental stage

Recommended management of Klinefelter syndrome based on common sequelae for developmental stage
Each therapy should be considered at the respective stage of development of a male with known Klinefelter syndrome. For example, if the diagnosis is made prenatally, then the clinician would educate the parents about Klinefelter syndrome and its prognosis. An 8-year-old male with Klinefelter syndrome who presented with micropenis as a neonate might be doing well at school and does not need speech and language therapy, or counseling. An older male who is diagnosed with Klinefelter syndrome during an evaluation of severe osteoporosis might need treatment with calcium and vitamin D supplements and an approved drug for osteoporosis in addition to testosterone replacement therapy.
