¶ Minimally invasive drainage can be performed by an interventional radiologist using a percutaneous approach or surgically, with a minimally invasive technique (eg, laparoscopy, colpotomy), if possible.
Δ Consultation with an infectious disease specialist is appropriate for women who do not improve clinically after 48 to 72 hours of intravenous antibiotics therapy in the setting of negative imaging.
