Cervical preparation options prior to dilation and evacuation

Gestational age	Cervical preparation
12+0 to 13+6 weeks	No cervical preparation or Misoprostol 400 mcg buccal/vaginal 1 to 3 hours prior
14+0 to 15+6 weeks	Misoprostol 400 mcg buccal/vaginal 1 to 3 hours prior or Osmotic dilators
16 weeks and later	Osmotic dilators or Mifepristone 200 mg 24 hours prior to procedure and osmotic dilators or Osmotic dilators and misoprostol 400 mcg buccal/vaginal 1 to 3 hours prior
