Prolonged diffusion restriction on MRI in a patient with retinal vasculopathy with cerebral leukoencephalopathy and systemic manifestations (RVCL-S)

Prolonged diffusion restriction on MRI in a patient with retinal vasculopathy with cerebral leukoencephalopathy and systemic manifestations (RVCL-S)
The upper row shows the b1000 image, the middle row shows the corresponding ADC map and the lower row shows the T1-weighted image after administration of contrast agent. A rim-like enhancing lesion with central diffusion restriction can be seen on baseline MRI at the right frontal lobe (A) and at six months follow-up MRI (B). At eight months follow-up MRI (C) the central diffusion restriction is not present anymore.
ADC: apparent diffusion coefficient; MRI: magnetic resonance imaging.
