Thumb CMC true lateral radiograph

Above is a true lateral plain radiograph of the thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) joint. To obtain this view, the radiograph beam is angled 10 degrees from vertical. This view is useful for assessing the CMC joint, as a standard lateral view can be difficult to interpret.
