Placenta adherens, focal accreta, and trapped placenta[1]

Placenta adherens, focal accreta, and trapped placenta[1]
(A) Placenta adherens. The placenta is adherent to the uterine wall but is easily separated manually. Arrows indicate the lack of subplacental myometrial contraction.
(B) Focal accreta. Arrow indicates the small portion of the placenta pathologically invading the myometrium.
(C) Trapped or incarcerated placenta. The placenta has detached completely from the uterus but has not delivered spontaneously or with light cord traction because the cervix has begun to close (arrows).
