(A) In a coronal plane scan through the anterior fontanel of a term infant, visualization of the posterior fossa (dotted circle) is hampered by the relatively large distance between the transducer and the cerebellum.
(B) Posterior coronal scan through the mastoid fontanel of the same term infant enabled detailed views of the cerebellar hemispheres and the foliation.
