Ultrasound of preterm infant with bilateral grade 2 cerebellar hemorrhage

Ultrasound in a preterm infant (gestational age 27 weeks) with complicated breech delivery demonstrating bilateral cerebellar hemorrhage (CBH). Anterior fontanel view (A), posterior fontanel midsagittal view (B), right coronal view (C), and transverse mastoid fontanel views (D) demonstrate CBH as an area of increased echogenicity at the lateral-inferior convexity of the cerebellar hemispheres (arrows). The lesions are shown most clearly on the mastoid fontanel view.
