Extruded stent from hemodialysis arteriovenous fistula
Extruded stent from hemodialysis arteriovenous fistula
The pictures illustrate a hemodialysis AV fistula stent complication. A woman in her 60s developed bleeding from a right upper arm basilic vein transposition (A, B). Blood cultures were positive. At surgical exploration of the wound, a stent could be seen at the base of the wound (C; arrow). Two stents were removed from the site (D), resulting in loss of the AV fistula, which was oversewn.
AV: arteriovenous.
